International Impact Actions

International Impact Actions to stimulate and support activities that enhance our international impact in research, education, innovation and collaboration are part of the University’s work with Global Dynamic Engagement (GDE).

Employees at Lund University can apply for funding to develop international collaborations and participate in activities that align with the priorities of GDE. Information about funding type, target audience and which partner universities the call includes can be found under each respective call.

Current calls

During 2024 and 2025, doctoral students at Lund University can apply for Erasmus+ funding for a stay at a partner university outside the EU/EEA. You can gather materials for your thesis, teach or participate in skills development.

The stay must be completed by 31 July 2025.

You are responsible for finding a host for your stay at one of the following partner universities

  • Botswana: University of Botswana
  • Ghana: University of Ghana*
  • South Africa: University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University
  • South Korea: Korea University, POSTECH, Seoul National University
  • Singapore: Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore

  • Switzerland: ETH Zürich, University of Zürich*, Université de Genève

Special conditions and processes may apply at some partner universities, e.g. bench fees.

*Erasmus+ agreements, needed for the Erasmus+ funding, will be discussed between LU and this partner university only after 21 August.

The process consists of two steps

  1. Expression of interest – including host confirmation – through a special form. The deadline for application is 21 August 2024.
  2. Once you receive confirmation that you have secured a place, you will receive instructions on how to apply for the Erasmus+ grant.

You can, for example, give lectures, provide supervision and participate in activities that provide skills development or insights that can be used for organisational development.

The funding is aimed at researchers with a PhD degree who are employed at Lund University, as well as research colleagues at select partner universities in countries that have recently been associated or soon will associated to the Horizon Europe programme.

The funds, up to a maximum of SEK 60 000 per award (SEK 25 000 within Europe), are intended to develop collaborations that have the potential to lead to externally funded research projects and joint publications.

The activities can start after the award has been granted and must take place by 31 July 2025.

The call is open for applications in all academic fields and for collaborations with the following countries and universities 

  • Canada – McGill University, McMaster University, Université de Montréal, University of British Columbia and University of Toronto 
  • New Zealand – University of Auckland, University of Canterbury and University of Otago 
  • Switzerland – ETH Zürich, Université de Genève and University of Zürich
  • United Kingdom – Imperial College London, University of Cambridge, University College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow och University of Oxford
  • South Korea – Korea University, POSTECH and Seoul National University 
  • Ukraine – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv 

Activities eligible for funding

  • Workshop/meeting costs, such as facilities, food, technical support
  • Travel, subsistence and accommodation costs in conjunction with visits for participants from LU and partner university

Salary costs, consumables and scholarships for students are not eligible.

Application

Applications are made through a special application form and should include the purpose of the collaboration, description of activities and confirmation of interest from the researcher at the partner university.

Deadline for application is 21 August 2024.
